Welcome to our Detailed Setup Guide! 🧑💻✨
To get Orbiri running smoothly for your family, you'll need two devices available:
Device 1 — Your (parent) phone
Device 2 — Your child's phone
ℹ️ Note:
You can run both Orbiri Parent and Orbiri Screen on a single device if you wish (e.g. if you are an adult user, or your child sometimes uses your parent device). In this case, follow all the steps on just your parent device.
🚨 IMPORTANT🚨Please complete these steps at home.
This prevents Apple’s “Stolen Device Protection” from requiring a 1-hour security delay before you can finish the setup.
Before following the instructions below, please make sure you have both phones in front of you and ready to go.
Device 1: Set up the Orbiri Parent app
Step 1.1 – Download the Orbiri Parent app
Download the Orbiri Parent app from Apple's App Store.
You can do this by searching for “Orbiri Parent” in your device’s App Store. Or just tap the "Orbiri Parent" icon below:

ℹ️ Note:
The 6-digit invite code will be in the 'Welcome to Orbiri' email you received. Lost your code? Please contact us.
Tap the "Connect to community" button.
ℹ️ Note:
Check that the community details are correct. If they are not, please contact us.
Step 1.8 – Prepare to link your parent device with the child device
Step 1.9 – Scan QR code to download the Orbiri Screen app
Scan the QR Code with your child's device. This will take you to the Orbiri Screen download page.
ℹ️ Note:
If the QR code doesn't work, go to guide.orbiri.com/get on your child's device.
Device 2: Set up the Orbiri Screen app
ℹ️ Note:
You can run both Orbiri Parent and Orbiri Screen on a single device if you wish (e.g. if you are an adult user, or your child sometimes uses your parent device). In that case, follow all the steps on your parent device only.
🚨 IMPORTANT🚨Please complete these steps at home.
This prevents Apple’s “Stolen Device Protection” from requiring a 1-hour security delay before you can finish the setup.
Step 2.1 – Download Orbiri Screen and TestFlight
Tap the "TestFlight" button to install Apple TestFlight.
ℹ️ Note:
If you can’t download TestFlight because of age restrictions, please contact us.
Step 2.2 – Install management profile
Open Orbiri Screen.
Tap the "Begin setup" button.
ℹ️ Note:
A QR code will display. Please ignore it, as it will just bring you to this same setup guide.
Tap the "Download profile" button.
ℹ️ Note:
The management profile allows Orbiri to get a list of apps on the child device. This lets us organise apps into "Spaces" to safeguard access.

If you have Stolen Device Protection enabled, Apple may require a 1-hour security delay before you can download Orbiri's management profile.
You'll need to:
You can then either:
Stay on the Orbiri Screen app and wait for the 1-hour delay to finish, or
Leave Orbiri Screen and wait. You'll receive a notification in 1 hour saying "Security Delay Ended".

You'll need to:
Ensure you are on the main Settings screen.
Tap the "General" button.
Scroll down to "VPN & Device Management".
Enter your device Passcode.
Tap the "Install" button.
ℹ️ Note:
This warning is a standard Apple message explaining how companies could use Mobile Device Management (MDM).
We use MDM only to get a list of your child's apps on their device and to update website whitelisting.
🚨 IMPORTANT NOTE🚨 We do not use Mobile Device Management to access any content or usage data.
You can read our full data privacy policy here.
Wait for Apple’s App Management Change message.
ℹ️ Note:
Apple usually sends this message within a few seconds, but at busy times, it may take up to two minutes.
Tap "Manage".
You’ll return to the Profile page in Settings.
🛠️ Quick-fix🛠️ Request to update to the latest app version?
An update to the latest version may be requested. This is unlikely, as you just downloaded the app; however, if an update request appears, cancel the message.
The "Install management profile" section should now be highlighted in green and marked as complete.
Step 2.3 – Approve Apple Screen Time
Step 2.4 – Install Orbiri Screen Shield
Tap the "Install Screen Shield" button.
🛠️ Quick-fix🛠️ Is the "Install Screen Shield" button grey?
Please wait while the web access filter is configured. If it takes more than 2 minutes, please contact us.
The "Install Orbiri Screen Shield" section should now be highlighted in green and marked as complete.
Step 2.5 – Allow notifications
Step 2.6 – Link to parent device
Tap the "Link device securely" button.
Enter your child's activation code.
ℹ️ Note:
This is the "activation code" shown when you tapped "Link device" in the parent app. It is not the invitation code shared in the "Welcome to Orbiri" email.
Tap the "Link devices" button.
The "Link to parent account" section should now be highlighted in green and marked as complete.
Tap the "Start using Orbiri" button on the Orbiri Screen (child) app.
Tap the "Next" button(s) on the onboarding guide(s) after reading the quick-intro text.
Tap the "Start using Orbiri" button.
ℹ️ Note:
If your community has not yet gone live, you will see this countdown screen instead of the main spaces screen. This gives us time to ensure all apps are properly categorised.
At the displayed time, Orbiri will activate for you!
ℹ️ Note:
It may take 10-30 seconds to load spaces for the first time. If the main screen doesn't appear within 1 minute, force-close the Orbiri Screen app (swipe it off the top of your screen) and reopen it. If you are still having trouble, please contact us.
Step 3: Lock "Screen Time" Settings
Lock the "Screen Time" settings on your child's device.
🚨 IMPORTANT NOTE🚨 This step must be completed by you (the parent) without your child watching or knowing the passcode.
Create a unique Screen Time passcode to lock the settings. This prevents your child from disabling Orbiri’s access to Screen Time, which is required to block apps.
The Screen Time passcode shouldn't match the passcode you use to unlock your device or your child's device.

You can create a Screen Time passcode to ensure the settings you choose for your child's device remain in place. This means your child must enter the passcode before they can change any Screen Time settings.
You'll need to:
Set a unique "Screen Time passcode"
ℹ️ Note:
A Screen Time passcode is separate to the passcode you use to unlock your device or a child's device. It is just for Apple Screen Time.

If you use Apple Family to manage a child’s Apple Account, the Family Sharing organiser or a parent/guardian needs to set the child's Screen Time passcode from their own device, not the child's device.
